Wasta

First, I wanted to mentioned that during this class, we went over the importance of identifying factors that affect pronunciation and as a result misunderstanding from receptors, because it is common to mishear or misunderstand a speech or a conversation, phonemes could be altered due to coarticulation, or the “smushing” together of sound in words, regions variation or having cold. Moving apart, we discussed about the concept of “Wasta” this was developed in the past, mostly like communication among tribal groups, mostly living in a specific area in the Middle East, wasta can also mean "influence" wich decribes the word very well, due to the fact that wasta is some kind of extra help gotten or prioritysm from someone. 

Second, it is important for me to mention, I was unfamiliar with the word wasta, I had no idea of what the meaning could be at all, but during class discussion I understood that wasta is a term used to refer to someone that interferes in a dispute on behalf of another person, in addition we can say that wasta is what a person gets to find a job, to be admitted at the university or in a dispute and get advantages among others.

To conclude, in first hand I learned the importance of identifying factors that may affect the pronunciation of words and or understanding of this, since can be easy to miss understand words like “teacher” and say it like “teasher” and can be misunderstand as T-shirt. in the other hand the term "wasta" is now a word that I can include on my daily use. According to Josue's explanation Wasta may refer to the benefits that people get from another one among others.
